SustiNet Clears First Hurdle
The SustiNet legislation, which implements a state run public health insurance option, moved forward Monday with a few minor changes when the Public Health Committee voted 16 to 10 to forward it to the Insurance and Real Estate Committee. SustiNet advocates say the state will save more than $250 million a year in health care costs. The increase comes from an increase in federal Medicaid funds.
