Last year marked a pivotal revitalization of the New England Community Action Partnership, or NECAP.  CAFCA was an essential player in that revitalization, as well as in a recent event marking the turn from organization to action.  Earlier this year, nearly 100 Community Action professionals from agencies across New England participated in NECAP's inaugural issues forum, "From Disparity to Shared Prosperity."

The forum was held near Boston, MA and focused on policy and advocacy.  Highlights included a legislative recap by NCAF Executive Director David Bradley [photo], presentations from several members of Congress, a fascinating presentation by Harvard Professor David R. Williams [photo] on health disparity, and enlightening presentations from The Carsey Institute on rural poverty and child poverty in New England.

Copies of the presentations are available at NECAP's website:  NECAP has great history and great promise as a strong voice for New England's Community Action Agencies, especially in these challenging times of limited funding and heightened community need.  CAFCA is proud to be a part of it.
