TEAM celebrates 50 years

 TEAM, Inc., the Community Action Agency serving the Naugatuck-Housatonic Valley Region, held its 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration on October 3, 2015, at Race Brook Country Club in Orange, CT.  It was an extraordinary night enjoyed by more than 140 guests and local dignitaries. A community-wide salute to past and present Board of Directors, leaders, staff, volunteers, and supporters of TEAM over the last 50 years, the evening commemorated their unending commitment to an agency that has positively impacted thousands of lives over the last 50 years.


Honorary Chairwoman  U.S. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal honored this special year TEAM's history by addressing the crowd with their appreciation and sincere gratitude to TEAM for the services offered to those most in need throughout the region.


Golden Heritage Awards were also presented to an individual, a foundation, and a corporation that has provided immeasurable, continual support to TEAM’s programs throughout the years. Recipients included local philanthropist William “Bill” Bassett, the Hewitt Foundation, and Pitney Bowes.


TEAM received official citations of recognition from multiple state and federal legislative leaders including U.S. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, and Governor Dannel P. Malloy. Sentiments from the citations included “The Lower Naugatuck Valley and entire State of Connecticut is grateful for your steadfast compassion and perseverance;” “Your efforts have and continue to touch the lives of thousands, bringing the most precious of gifts—that of hope;” and, “[TEAM’s] bright future of community engagement and exemplary service for many years to come.”
