The Thames Valley Council for Community Action’s (TVCCA) Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is partnering with the New London Police Department to distribute winter boots to children in New London.

Over the last two months, RSVP volunteers have collected boots and monetary donations to purchase boots. Based on requests from area teachers, more than 800 pairs of warm, winter boots have been gift-wrapped for children in Southeastern Connecticut.

On December 13th, officers from the New London Police Department distributed many of these packages to children at CB Jennings Elementary School, the Early Childhood Center at Harbor School, and TVCCA’s New London Head Start and Early Childcare Center.  Additional deliveries will be made by staff and volunteers throughout the week.

TVCCA is the Community Action Agency that serves limited income individuals and families in southeastern Connecticut.
